FEELINGS
When I was a kid, a rigid religious man gave me a tract of a train. He said the first locomotive car that must lead the train is "facts." The 2nd coal car is "faith." The caboose is "feeling." The explanation reads: "The train will run with or without the caboose." He told me my feelings aren't important, only the "facts" of what his interpretation of the Bible was. Having now passed the half century mark, I've come to realize how toxic and misguided this advice was. Feelings may not always be facts, but feelings are important in guiding the train, gifts to teach us lessons. Pay attention to your feelings, when something does or doesn't feel right.
